Such a hectic weekend!

This weekend was very busy in the Smith household! On Saturday we had two major events. First was Austin's baptism at St. Anne's Catholic Church. It was a great experience and we're so happy. We're very thankful for my brother Andy and sister in law Cassandra for being Austin's Godparents. We know they will continue to be a great support system for our growing family. Austin was such a good boy and didn't even wake up during the baptism!

Saturday afternoon Ryan's work was having a picnoc cookout at a park in Tempe. It was such a great day to be outside. We had hamburgers and hot dogs, side dishes, and yummy desserts. They even made smores, but we left before they had those. It was a great time with some great people. I'm looking forward to Austin being old enough to play and stuff. Right now he's cute, but he doesn't do much. :-) I know I'll regret that statement later.

Since Austin is going through all of his first, I want to make sure we capture plenty of pictures and do a lot of fun things. Since it is almost Halloween, we went to a pumpkin patch today to take pictures. It was good times because my brother and sister in law brought their daughter, Calleigh and Cassandra's mom and my mom also met us there. We got some great pictures! He's young so it was hard to pose him and he wanted to sleep, but at the same time Calleigh was so excited to just run around that it was hard to get her to sit for pictures. It is okay, I love all the pictures we got.

Getting in the Swing of Things

Ryan started back to work October 4th and Austin and I have been getting used to being together during the weeks. It is probably one of the most difficult things, to work and take care of him. His been having a lot more awake times during the day and that comes with wanting more attention than in the first few weeks. We've been excited to see little smiles though!
Well I guess this is a big smile! Austin turned a month old! I can't believe it has been a month already! Well now it has been a little over a month. Every night I look at him and just think that it is a miracle that he was grown inside of me and that he is a perfect combo or Ryan and I.

Austin went through his first storm earlier this month. He slept through the whole thing in his swing. I must be a mom because I was sitting there praying that the electricity didn't go out because his swing would stop swinging. We got a good amount of hail, it almost looked like snow! Max and Molly played in it afterwards, but boy did it make a mess!
We're excited about some upcoming events to share with Austin. We have his baptism coming up on the 23rd and the next weekend is Halloween! We're so excited to carve Austin's first pumpkin. :-) Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks!

Where did September go?

I have no clue where the month of September went. I mean, it seems like just yesterday I was counting down the days until Austin was due and I seemed the blink my eyes and October was here and my little man is almost a month old! Austin is four weeks old today. Not a month yet, since months are 4 weeks and 2 days (One of the many things I've learned through my pregnancy). I'm glad I've taken so many pictures every week because I can look back and see how he's changed. Just look at my little man.
In the hospital waiting to go home.

October 1st, in a bit of a milk coma....

The highlight of the week was going to Ryan's work for a little baby shower. This was the first time I'd been at the new office and Ryan hasn't been at work since he's been on maternity leave so it was exciting  to take Austin in to meet anybody. One of his coworkers made a beautiful cake!
Mommy had to go back to work this week, which meant going to the office on Friday. Oh man it was hard leaving Austin for the first time for a long period. Daddy took good care of him and then Aunt Cassandra and cousin Calleigh helped out by watching Austin too. Auntie Daycare comes with field trips, she took Austin to her old school to have lunch with some teacher friends of her's. Apparently he did a great job and slept a lot. I'm not too sure why he sleeps so well at other's places! I guess he likes to keep the good stuff for mom and dad.

Finally, a few pictures to remember the week. :-)
