On the Go..In More Way Than One!

Austin got a cool ride for his birthday. It was finally cool enough to take him outside to play for a little bit. We went up and down the sidewalk for a few laps.
Riding along

A little hesitant, but fun none the less

Oh yeah, here we go.
The next thing is that Austin took his first steps! He is such a big boy! I hope this video works.
I cannot believe how fast he is growing up. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you, Austin!

Austin's First Haircut

Well we finally did it! After like a month of saying Austin needed a haircut, we finally took him to get it done. I love my babe's curly hair and how much he has, but it was covering his eyes and ears, but too much. He did such a great job! It wasn't until the last maybe two minutes that he started fussing a bit. He looks like a whole new man now.

Trip To Iowa

Austin and I traveled to Iowa to visit some family. My uncle was getting married, so it was the perfect time to see many family members that I haven't seen since our wedding. We had to leave Daddy behind and we missed him dearly. We did have fun with Grandma and Grandpa Streit and Uncle Andy. He was a trooper on the plane and the unexpected extra drive on Friday night.

Happy Birthday, Austin!

I can't even put into words how amazing it was to celebrate Austin's birthday this past weekend. There was so much emotion wrapped into one day. I just cannot believe my baby turned 1, he will always be my baby, but he is more and more a big boy every single day. In the last year we have been through a lot. I can honestly say that I have been tested, but we have gotten through everything and here we are!

We decided to keep Austin's party as small as possible. It ended up being about 20 people large with just immediate family. We wanted to make sure that the people Austin loved the most surrounded him on his special day. Here are some pictures of the day.

Time to get sappy

I'm going to try to type this blog as my almost one year old is attempting to grab the computer. :-) Which is fine, because the blog is all about him (like usual). A year age today....a year ago today was my due date, a year ago today was the day they scheduled my induction, a year ago today I was a nervous wreck. Tonight I will walk back to bed and blow kisses through the door of my son's bedroom. I'd open the door, but that would wake him and if you know my son, well we can't have that. :-) A year ago tonight I rocked in the rocking chair excited about the newest addition to join our family soon.

September 4th will mark the beginning of a process. A process that took over 24 hours, but brought the most wonderful person into my life, hands down. Tomorrow will be Austin's first birthday party. It seems a bit fitting that his birthday celebration starts on the day that I went into labor. I'm so excited for the next year. This first year has been amazing, and I know that it will just keep getting better and better.
